Mayflower Wallpaper aims to enhance the atmosphere of historic homes with their thoughtfully designed patterns.

Mayflower Wallpaper is a family-run studio creating historically inspired patterns for homes that value craftsmanship, character, and a strong sense of place. From our design studio in coastal Rhode Island, we develop patterns that draw on the architectural and decorative traditions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries—Victorian, Gothic Revival, and Arts & Crafts among them. Each collection reflects our shared belief that wallpaper should deepen a room’s atmosphere, not simply dress its walls.

Our designs come to life through close collaboration with a dedicated mill in Pennsylvania, where every roll is produced with careful attention to color, texture, and print fidelity. By keeping our manufacturing domestic and tightly coordinated with our design process, we’re able to ensure consistency across runs and uphold the level of detail that historic interiors deserve. This partnership allows us to blend the warmth of traditional methods with modern precision, resulting in wallpapers that feel both timeless and reliably made.

The Victorian patterns we create celebrate intricate ornamentation—bold damasks, rhythmic florals, and layered motifs that suit parlors, dining rooms, and entry halls with original moldings and tall ceilings. Our Gothic-inspired designs lean into architectural drama, echoing the pointed arches, tracery, and moody palettes that define the style. These papers lend presence to libraries, stair halls, and quiet reading rooms. For Arts & Crafts homes, we offer patterns grounded in simplicity and harmony: stylized leaves, repeating botanicals, and strong verticals that complement natural materials and built-in woodwork. Each design is developed with an understanding of how pattern interacts with period architecture—the way a motif wraps a corner, frames a doorway, or unifies a series of rooms.

Because Mayflower Wallpaper is a small team, every collection is shaped with personal attention from concept to final roll. We work closely with homeowners, designers, and preservation-minded renovators who want wallpaper that respects the character of an old house while giving it renewed life. Our approach is rooted in the belief that good wallpaper supports the narrative of a home: it should feel considered, lived-with, and suited to the light and proportions of the spaces it inhabits.

The fifteen images shown alongside this copy offer a window into how our patterns behave in real interiors—how saturated tones can warm a north-facing room, how a large-scale motif can enliven a simple stairwell, or how a quiet Arts & Crafts repeat can bring cohesion to a bungalow’s main floor. These installations reflect the range of styles we love and the variety of homes our customers are restoring, refreshing, and honoring.

Whether you’re stewarding a 1900 Victorian, revitalizing an early Craftsman bungalow, or simply seeking a wallpaper with depth and story, we hope our designs become part of your home’s next chapter. Each roll is made with care, and each pattern is created with the belief that history and design are at their best when they work together.
