About Aspenwood Designs LLC

The owner/craftsman, Steve Kroeker, earned a Fine Woodworking degree from Red Rocks Community College. In school, he honed his woodworking skills and learned about the past, in the form of Arts & Crafts-style furniture; and the future, using new technologies and techniques to create high quality custom furniture and accessories.

“I am passionate about woodworking and it is where I find peace and contentment in my life. I am drawn to Arts & Crafts-style furniture because of the simple yet elegant lines, the emphasis on exposed joinery as a design element, and the warm finish on the wood that makes you want to touch it. It takes you back to a simpler, less frenetic time in America.”

The Process

All of the products are built by Steve. He starts with hand-selected rough sawn hardwood, then machines the wood to make it flat, square and true. The grain and figure of the wood and the shape and role of each part in the design determines how each piece of wood will be utilized. Finishes are selected to enhance the grain and color of the wood and to bring out the wood’s natural beauty.

Made in America

The handcrafted products created by Aspenwood Designs are made in America by a service-connected disabled military veteran with multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Steve proudly served this great country and now dedicates himself to creating fine custom wood furniture and products.

Steve lives with his wife in Colorado and holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of Montana and an M.S. in Forest Sciences from Colorado State University.
